The supplier sheet behind Krabi Info Group lists 23 minivans among 94 cars in Krabi, and 19 of the 100 cars showing on the live board right now seat seven. That is a higher share than most rental boards carry, and it lines up with what people actually drive to from here: the Emerald Pool, the hot springs, Khao Sok, the northern beaches, the pier for the island boats. Every one of those is a day a group does together, not a solo errand.
So this is not one minivan bolted onto a fleet of small cars. Five different seven seat models are on the Krabi board at any one time, and they are not interchangeable. Luggage plus seven real people is a genuine constraint, and the seventh row on a Xpander is a different proposition from the third row of an Innova Zenix. What follows is the practical difference between them, not a single generic pitch for "why rent a minivan".
Every car on the board is automatic, seven seaters included, so the gearbox is one thing you do not have to think about. Rates for the class run from about EUR 34 a day for the compact end up to about EUR 76 for the largest model, and all of it is settled in euro before you land. Fuel and parking are the only things you pay for on the ground, in baht.
Three adults, three kids and every bag we owned. The Innova took it all without anyone folding their knees up.

Splitting one seven seater between two couples worked out cheaper than two small cars, and nobody had to navigate.

We used the extra row for the cooler box on the Emerald Pool day and still had five real seats. Simple swap for us.

Seven seats does not mean seven suitcases. Fold the third row down on any of these five and the boot is genuinely useful; put all seven seats up for a full day out and you are down to soft bags and a cooler box behind the last row.
If your group is closer to five adults with real luggage, book the class but plan to use the third row as overflow space rather than permanent seating. If you are actually seven, the Innova Zenix is the one model here built to keep its boot with every row occupied.

Sampled from the same live search the panel above runs. All five are automatic, and stock moves with the season, so treat the rates as the floor rather than a quote.
| Model | Seats | Daily rate | What it is best at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toyota Sienta | 7 | from about EUR 34 | Sliding doors, tightest turning circle of the five |
| Mitsubishi Xpander | 7 | from about EUR 38 | Usable third row for shorter adults, deep boot with row folded |
| Mitsubishi Xpander Cross | 7 | from about EUR 42 | Higher ride height, same cabin as the Xpander |
| Toyota Veloz | 7 | from about EUR 44 | Roomiest middle row of the group, good for child seats |
| Toyota Innova Zenix | 7 | from about EUR 76 | Largest boot with all rows up, best for six people plus luggage |
There are no 8+ seat vans on the Krabi board. If you need more than seven seats, two smaller cars is the only option here.
Two families sharing a villa near Ao Nang, one car for the whole week instead of two.
Emerald Pool, the hot springs and Tiger Cave Temple all sit inland or just outside Krabi Town. A group doing all three in one day wants one driver and one car, not a convoy.
The Veloz and Innova Zenix have the widest middle rows on the board for fitting a child seat properly.
Groups heading to Phi Phi or Koh Lanta park at Klong Jilad pier for the day. A seven seater means one parking ticket, not two.
One booking from about EUR 34 a day split six or seven ways, rather than two separate small car hires.
Live availability from local Krabi suppliers, priced in euro, with free cancellation on a large part of the fleet.
